This is a call for proposals for EU action grants in the field of Coal and Steel under the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS).
The call covers the following topics:
RFCS-2026-01-AM Coal Accompanying Measures
This topic covers all research objectives for the coal sector, as set out in the RFCS Regulation, i.e.:
supporting the just transition of the coal sector and regions
improving health and safety
minimising the environmental impacts of coal mines in transition.
RFCS-2026-01-RPJ Coal Research Projects
This topic covers all research objectives for the coal sector, as set out in the RFCS Regulation, i.e.:
supporting the just transition of the coal sector and regions
improving health and safety
minimising the environmental impacts of coal mines in transition Within this frame, projects from all areas and domains are admitted.
RFCS-2026-01-PDP Coal Pilot and Demonstration Projects
Τhis topic covers all research objectives for the coal sector, as set out in the RFCS Regulation, i.e.:
supporting the just transition of the coal sector and regions
improving health and safety
minimising the environmental impacts of coal mines in transition.
RFCS-2026-02-AM Steel Accompanying Measures
This topic covers all research objectives for the steel sector, as set out in the RFCS Regulation, i.e.:
new, sustainable and low-carbon steelmaking and finishing processes
advanced steel grades and applications
conservation of resources, protection of the environment and circular economy
management of work force and working conditions.

This topic covers all research objectives for the steel sector, as set out in the RFCS Regulation, i.e.:
new, sustainable and low-carbon steelmaking and finishing processes
advanced steel grades and applications
conservation of resources, protection of the environment and circular economy

RFCS-2026-02-PDP Steel Pilot and Demonstration Projects
This topic covers all research objectives for the steel sector, as set out in the RFCS Regulation, i.e.:
new, sustainable and low-carbon steelmaking and finishing processes
advanced steel grades and applications
conservation of resources, protection of the environment and circular economy
management of work force and working conditions.
Each project application under the call must address only one of these topics. Applicants wishing to apply for more than one topic, must submit a separate proposal under each topic.
