In the last few days we have seen the crisis of the coronavirus continue to grow exponentially. We are going through really tough times.

We know some of you are facing tough and personally challenging situations.

We continue working together in the most effective way to ensure that we all stay healthy, productive and safe.

Today we would like to inform you the Commission has launched a call for ESF projects in view of a ‘European funding for excellence in European Vocational Education and Training (VET)’ Award. It will be awarded during the Vocational Skills Week 2020 in November.

This award category will complement the various VET/Adult Leaning awards linked to the Vocational Skills Week while underlining the European funding aspect in the framework of the European Social Fund.

This year’s theme is “Green Deal: green skills and jobs

What is the Vocational Skills Week?

European Vocational Skills Week 2020 (2020 EVSW) is Europe’s annual celebration of vocational education and training. This is to improve the attractiveness and image of vocational education and training. The European Commission wants to showcase excellence and quality and raise awareness of the wide range of opportunities.

Why apply for the award?

The purpose of the award is to give visibility to excellent practices in the area of education and training in initial VET as well as in continuing VET aiming at improving education and training and ensure (young) people complete their education and get the skills that make them more competitive on the jobs market.  Winning the award would draw attention to your initiative and it could inspire others to use it as a best practice. This could lead to improving VET in more countries.

Two projects will be selected by a jury and two representatives of each project will be invited to the Vocational Skills Week in Berlin (9-13 November 2018). Both projects will be promoted online on the European Vocational Skills Week website. One winner will be announced in Berlin.
